Dietary and BioMedical Therapy

As Autism is a spectrum disorder, it has been found that no one method alone is generally effective in treating the symptoms and behaviors associated with it. Many parents and professionals have found that a combination of treatments targeting the various symptoms and behaviors is effective. Often, some of these techniques are dietary or biomedical interventions.

To date, there is no one drug, vitamin or special diet (or other intervention for that matter) that will “cure” autism. There are, however, treatments that can relieve or ameliorate some of the symptoms that emerge in a person with autism, enabling them to function more comfortably and successfully in the world. As with any intervention, it is important to do the research, ask the questions, find a competent, experienced practitioner, and make sure that you have a method for collecting data so that you can determine whether you are seeing results from your efforts.
